Adult Faith Formation

At John Calvin, we believe that our faith is something that is continually growing and being formed in the likeness of Christ. You are invited to learn and grow, bringing your questions and your doubts.

Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here.

We have three regular class offerings for adults. We have two adult classes that are offered on Sunday morning at 9:15 am. One class is a more traditional bible study that uses either the Feasting on the Word or The Present Word curriculum.

The second class for adults is called, “Going Deeper” and uses a study guide from The Christian Century to guide theological reflections on current events.

On Wednesday mornings at 11:30, we have a 45 minute study using the book, The Moral Teachings of Jesus by Rev. Dr. David Gushee of Mercer University. The class happens both live in the pastors study and on Zoom.

Children's Faith Formation

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!

All children are gifts from God and unique in their own ways. We have Sunday school for children on Sundays at 9:15 and Children's Church during worship following the children's time and anthem.

Our teachers are trained educators and special educators who are comfortable with all types of children. Know that yours would be welcome.

Special events for children and youth provide opportunities for service, learning  and fellowship throughout the year — usually once or twice per month on Sunday afternoon. Contact Susan Nexsen, Children’s Ministry Coordinator for more information. She is available in the church office generally Monday through Thursday from 9am to 1pm.
